Liverpool star Salah told to stop ‘feeling sorry for yourself’
Former Chelsea player Craig Burley has urged Liverpool star Mohamed Salah to stop “feeling sorry for yourself” following the African Cup of Nations.
The forward has been enjoying his best season to date on a personal level for Liverpool this term.
Salah has provided 16 goals and nine assists from his 20 Premier League appearances. He is currently the top scorer in the league.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is the only player who has registered more assists in the Premier League so far this campaign.
This is despite Salah missing two games in January with him featuring for Egypt at the AFCON.
His side reached the final of the competition as they battled it out with Sadio Mane’s Senegal for the trophy.
Senegal ultimately triumphed as they won 4-2 on penalties. Salah is now back with Liverpool and he is in contention to play against Leicester on Thursday night.
Burley played over 100 times for Chelsea before leaving in 1997. He was also capped 46 times for Scotland between 1996 and 2003.
He believes Salah needs to “get back to business” for Liverpool:
“I do [start him], yes, and I say ‘let’s go out there and normal service resumed, put the final aside, put disappointments to the side and brush yourself down and get on with it’,” Burley told ESPN.
“Life’s full of disappointments, it’s about business now.
“And the quicker he gets back to business in front of the Kop at Anfield and back on form and back scoring goals, the better.
“There’s no time for feeling sorry for yourself, it’s a game of football. They lost.
“His club are his employers. Yeah it’s not easy and you’re flying and you’re travelling and all that.
“I think if he doesn’t play it will be more for fatigue reasons than mental reasons, for me.
“But all things being equal, I get him back in the side because this is another big game for Liverpool.
“Liverpool can ill afford many, if any, slip ups in their quest to chase down Man City in the Premier League.
“Liverpool have to be on the money and to be on the money, you have to play your best players.”
