Liverpool-linked Jarrod Bowen celebrates scoring a goal

Liverpool remain interest in Premier League pair Jarrod Bowen and Raphinha as they plan for future transfer windows, according to reports.

The Reds have started the season brilliantly, easing through the Champions League group stage and currently sitting three points off Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Chelsea and Manchester City were the favourites for the title among many journalists, former players and supporters ahead of the new season – but Liverpool have gone a long way to prove their doubters wrong.

Having only brought in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig there were doubts over whether Liverpool had strengthened enough up front and in central midfield.

However, with Virgil van Dijk and others returning to full fitness under Jurgen Klopp this season they have a great chance of a very successful campaign.

And now the Liverpool Echo claim that, despite their lack of summer transfer activity, the Reds are ‘unlikely to be delving into the market next month’.

The report adds:

‘Instead, continuity remains the watchword as the recruitment department resume the usual strategy of planning for the long haul.

‘Jarrod Bowen at West Ham continues to be a player of interest among those who matter at Anfield, while Leeds’ Raphinha is another who is being assessed.

‘Both players, though, are almost certain to be staying put for the remainder of the season. Or, more accurately, they will not be moving to Anfield in the winter, at least.’

Meanwhile, Liverpool forward Takumi Minamino admits he is channelling his frustration at not getting regular game time into improving his performances when he does get a chance.

“As a player I always want to play every match,” Minamino said before Christmas.

“I think a kind of frustration is common for the players (who don’t play) but I like to turn this frustration into positiveness with my attitude.

“I put in a lot of effort every day to play more and to get game time. I want to play more games and I want to prove to myself that I can do much better, so I use my frustration to turn everything positive.

“But I am at the best club in the world and I can spend the best time of my career at this club.“As I have said before, I would like to contribute to this club as much as possible. That is the best thing I can do.”
