Liverpool target awaiting ‘green light’ but £80m demand could scupper deal with European giants
According to reports, Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch ‘missed training’ on Thursday as he is ‘hoping’ to sign for Premier League giants Liverpool.
The Reds have already signed three midfielders this summer but they are now attempting to sign Gravenberch from Bayern Munich.
The Dutchman has barely featured for the Bundesliga giants following his move from Eredivisie outfit Ajax and he is keen on a move to Liverpool.
The midfielder has also been linked with Man Utd but he has reportedly made it clear that he ‘favours’ a move to Liverpool.
Sky Sports are now reporting that ‘Gravenberch was not involved in training and is hoping to get the green light over an exit from Bayern Munich today as Liverpool push for his signature’. They add.
‘The clubs remain in talks over the fee and structure of a potential deal.
‘Bayern, who are keen on Fulham’s Joao Palhinha and want to source a replacement before sanctioning Gravenberch’s departure, are understood to be seeking between £30-35 million.
‘While Liverpool are in the driving seat, Sky Sports News has been told that Manchester United have not ended their interest in Gravenberch.’

Regarding Palhinha, Sky Sports are of the understanding that Bayern Munich are ‘pushing’ for the midfielder. They explain.
‘Bayern Munich still trying to sign Fulham midfielder Joao Palhinha this morning.
‘Palhinha, who Fulham value at up to £80m, wants the move. He has four years left on his contract plus option of another 12 months.’
Spanish outlet Fichajes meanwhile are reporting that Bayern Munich are ‘not willing’ to match Fulham’s ‘crazy’ asking price for Pahlinha as they are instead ‘staying at around 50 million euros to try to close a transfer agreement’.
Pahlinha has emerged as a vital player for Fulham so they are unlikely to sanction his exit unless they recruit a suitable replacement.
Football Insider have indicated that they are ‘ready to hijack Nottingham Forest’s deal for Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana as they look to get a replacement lined up for Bayern Munich target Palhinha’. They continue.
‘Fulham are drawing up a list of targets in case they lose Palhina to Bayern in the final 48 hours of the window and Fofana figures highly on their list.
‘Fofana, 24, has been held talks over joining Forest, but now Fulham could now ambush their Premier League rivals by agreeing a deal for the France international.
‘Thomas Tuchel has made the [Pahlinha] his top target as he looks for a defensive-minded midfielder to add to his ranks.
‘Fulham are reluctant to lose Palhinha so late in the window but have picked out Fofana as a replacement should they lose their current star.’
