Liverpool unlikely to make Alisson approach – but Chelsea might

Liverpool are reportedly unwilling to meet Roma’s valuation of Brazil goalkeeper Alisson.

The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the 25-year-old stopper but Sky Sports claims the £80million asking price has made the Merseyside club back off.

The report also claims Real Madrid is Alisson’s most likely destination should he leave Roma.

Real are in the market for a new goalkeeper this summer, having been linked with Alisson, David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois.

Chelsea are said to be aware of Real’s interest in their Belgium keeper, and if Courtois does return to Madrid, where he spent three seasons on loan at Atletico, then the Blues could make a move for Alisson.

Courtois has never hidden his desire to return to Spain, while it was reported last week that Manchester United would be willing to sell De Gea to Real as long as they secure Atletico’s current No.1 Jan Oblak as the Spaniard’s replacement.

Liverpool were also linked with two new goalkeeping names in recent days: Bayer Leverkusen stopper Bernd Leno, and Burnley’s England new boy Nick Pope.
