Mamadou Sakho is eager to continue his career at Liverpool, but admits that he does not know “what else I can do”.
Sakho last appeared for his parent club in April 2016, his 2015/16 season being ended abruptly by a drugs ban which was eventually overturned.
The central defender returned to the club in pre-season, but was sent home from a tour of the United States after his attitude was called into question by manager Jurgen Klopp.
Sakho, who has impressed on loan at Crystal Palace since January and valued at £30million, says that he paid a fine for turning up late for training, and is not sure what else he can do to win over the manager.
“I still have a contract for three more years,” he told Telefoot. “If I were to wear the Liverpool jersey again, I would be happy to do so.
“I was late for training, something that happens everywhere. I paid a fine and I do not know what else I can do.
“It is up to the boss. He makes the decisions and I can only accept that. And we will see what happens if my future is elsewhere.”
