Reported Arsenal target Alexis Claude-Maurice says he wants to join Bundesliga side Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Recent speculation has claimed that the Gunners made a bid for the Lorient winger earlier this month with West Ham also interested.

Claude-Maurice helped Lorient last season by scoring 14 goals but he couldn’t guide them into Ligue 1 as they missed out on promotion.

“I want to join Gladbach [Borussia Mönchengladbach],” Claude-Maurice told L’Equipe. “They are a club that focus on young players.

“There is a good structure, they are playing in the Europa League. I like their project & it suits me.”

Arsenal have yet to make a signing this summer despite being linked to a wealth of players and this could come as another blow.
