Lovren time: Liverpool’s Sakho out for two months

Mamadou Sakho has not damaged his anterior cruciate ligament but still faces around two months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Sakho injured his knee in the defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday, with manager Jurgen Klopp admitting the sight came as a blow to the club.

Initial scans have allayed the club’s worst fears – that Sakho had suffered a similar injury to those which have ruled out Danny Ings and Joe Gomez for the season.

However, the Daily Mail believe that Sakho will still face a spell on the sidelines, with the Frenchman set to meet a specialist on Tuesday to confirm how long he will be out for.

Sakho left Anfield on crutches at the weekend and was seen using them again in midweek as he met consultants, and it is claimed that the 25-year-old will be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
