Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has promised to return to Anderlecht before he retires.
Lukaku has established himself as one of the world’s best young strikers since moving to the Premier League in 2011.
In spells with Chelsea, West Brom, Everton and now United, the Belgian has scored 97 Premier League goals in 212 appearances.
But while Lukaku has made his name largely in England, it was in his native Belgium where he first broke onto the scene.
He scored 41 goals in 98 games for Anderlecht before departing after his second full season, and has vowed to return again before he retires.
“My dream was always to play for Anderlecht,” Lukaku told Belgian newspaper HLN.
“Before the end of my career I will definitely return, I can already promise that. I had a wonderful time there.”
