Man City arrival reveals reason for transfer fast-track
New Man City starlet Kayky has opened up on why his transfer from Fluminense was moved forward by six months.
Pep Guardiola’s side reached an agreement to sign the Brazilian for €10million (£8.5m) back in April.
They decided it was best to let him develop in his home country and his arrival in England was delayed until January 2022.

However, Kayky recently joined up with City’s academy and is already involved in training.
The 18-year-old, who operates as a winger on either side, has spoken about the deal in an interview with Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte.
“We had an agreement that was until the end of the year, but we weren’t able to fulfil it,” he said.
“They both had projects and understood that it was better for me to go now, that it was the best time. As mentioned, it was friendly.
“I’ve been anxious since the first time they said they had a proposal for me from Manchester City.
“It was my dream to work with Pep Guardiola, who I consider one of the best coaches, and every day I got closer I got more anxious. I tried to keep the focus here, I had the whole season ahead of me.
“But it gets closer to the presentation date, it gets that butterflies in my stomach, which always hits when we go out on the pitch. And it’s very good to feel it.”
On the feeling of playing with renowned superstars, he added: “It’ll only drop there when you realise that you are working day-to-day with people you never imagined playing, that you used to watch on television, playing video games with the players themselves… And one day you can be there, play against Cristiano Ronaldo, who’s one of my idols, I have no idea about it. I think the penny will only drop when I get there.”
Kayky is a graduate of Fluminense’s academy, which has produced Liverpool midfielder Fabinho and attacking left-back Marcelo in the past.
The winger has played in 32 games for the Brazilian outfit, scoring three goals and registering two assists.
