Pep Guardiola has scuppered Neymar’s hopes of playing under him in the near future.
Guardiola was named by Neymar as the one manager he would like to work with one day.
The Brazilian said last month that he had “always wanted” to link up with the Spaniard, leading to tiresome speculation.
Neymar’s future has been under scrutiny despite having only joined Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record move last summer.
Guardiola has poured cold water on the rumours, however.
“I’m not going to go to Paris Saint-Germain and he will not go to Manchester,” Guardiola said.
Asked whether Neymar is more likely to join Real Madrid, he replied: “To Madrid? I’ve seen but I don’t know, I don’t know. What I know is that leaving Paris is not easy.
“Leaving Paris is not easy because PSG are PSG. But in football we know that anything is possible.”
