Man City and Chelsea learn route to Champions League final

Manchester City will face Lyon or Juventus in the Champions League quarter-finals if they overcome Real Madrid.

After play was suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic, play will resume next month with the remaining last-16 ties before the qualified teams descend on Portugal for a final eight competition.

The draw for Champions League mini-tournament was made in Nyon on Friday, with City to face Lyon or Juventus in the quarter-finals if they can progress past Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea head to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich trailing 3-0 in their Champions League round-of-16 tie, with the victor of that tie facing either Barcelona or Napoli.

RB Leipzig will play Atletico Madrid and Atalanta were drawn against Paris St Germain in the other quarter-finals.

Should City progress through their last-16 and quarter-final ties, Guardiola’s men would face Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Barcelona or Napoli in the semi-finals.

Leipzig or Atletico Madrid will face Atalanta or PSG in the other semi-final, which will provide the home team for the final at the empty Estadio da Luz on August 23.
