Man City ‘refusing to match’ Leicester’s £80m Maguire valuation

Harry Maguire could be left in a state of ‘limbo’ this summer as Manchester City have reportedly refused to meet Leicester City’s valuation.

There were revelations last week that Manchester United had offered £40million for Maguire despite Leicester reportedly demanding closer to £80million for the England international.

And the Daily Mirror reported yesterday that City had won the race for Maguire with the Premier League champions ready to ‘seal’ an £80million deal with their contract offer blowing United out the water.

Liverpool paid Southampton £75million for Virgil van Dijk but the deal for Maguire would likely eclipse that, making him the most expensive defender in the history of football.

However, The Sun claims that City ‘will not match’ the £80million that the Foxes are asking for and instead value him nearer to £60million.

The report adds that Maguire’s only way out this summer is to ‘plead’ for Leicester to drop their asking price.
