Man City star ‘says yes’ to European giants with ‘total verbal agreement’ reached over transfer
According to reports, Man City defender Kyle Walker has ‘said yes’ to Bayern Munich and a ‘total verbal agreement’ has been reached over a move to Germany.
The England international left Tottenham Hotspur to join City in 2017 and he has been a sensational signing for the Premier League champions.
The 33-year-old has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the world as he’s helped Man City win the Premier League on five separate occasions. He was also vital for them last season as they completed the treble.
Walker’s contract is up in 2024 and he has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich, who are managed by former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel.
Earlier this week, The Sun reported that Walker is ‘torn over staying at Manchester City or joining Bayern Munich’. They added.
‘The England veteran will make a call on his future when back from his Las Vegas holiday next week.
‘Walker, 33, had one foot out of the door earlier in the summer – and was ready to accept Bayern’s three-year deal. However he is now seriously considering a U-turn after his club put their own generous new contract on the table.
‘Walker has a long-held ambition to play overseas – so the chance to move to Bayern appeals. He has just a year left on his £160,000-per-week deal but he was surprised by the two-year contract which has been drawn up for him by the Treble winners.’

But German journalist Florian Plettenberg is now reporting that Walker is ‘ready to sign’ for Bayern Munich as he ‘said yes’ to the Bundesliga giants on Friday.
Bayern have reached a ‘total verbal agreement’ with Walker and they now need to ‘find an agreement’ with Man City. Their offer to the defender is an initial two-year deal which will include an option for a further year until 2026.
This update comes after former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton warned Walker that the “grass is not always greener”.
“I think it would be a massive decision to leave a team that is so strong at this moment in time, after everything they did last season,” Hutton told Football Insider.
“That being said, Pep likes to tinker. He changes his tactics, he changes his formation, personnel, it must be difficult unless you are one of the main players.”
He added: “I think he is a little bit lucky where he can play centre-back, wing-back, so he is versatile. But the grass is not always greener.
“Is he happier where he is, winning trophies and being in and out the team or does he go to somewhere like Newcastle or whoever. ”
