Juventus are desperate to save a bit of money. Man United might help out, 'but not at that salary'.

Juventus will consider offloading possible Man United target Aaron Ramsey due to the financial consequences of the ongoing global pandemic.

Ramsey joined Juventus in summer 2019 but injuries and midfield competition have restricted him to just nine Serie A starts and 24 appearances in all.

The Welshman was not in the squad for the club’s return to football in the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final against AC Milan on Friday.

Premier League XIs: The Welsh wonders…

The Daily Mail believe he ‘could be one of the first victims’ of a football ‘recession’ as Juventus are ‘open’ to letting him go.

There is ‘an increasingly urgent need’ for the club ‘to cut their vast wage bill’, which would bring Ramsey’s £400,000-a-week earnings into question.

Man United are one of ‘two top English clubs’ that ‘have been alerted’ to the situation. They ‘would definitely have an interest but not at that salary’.

Ramsey may therefore be forced to either take a pay cut or move elsewhere on loan, with any club having to take on at least a portion of his wages.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Old Trafford recently, as part of a potential part-exchange for Paul Pogba.

Tony Cascarino reckons he would be “perfect” for Man United. And if that’s not a ringing endorsement, what is?

Ramsey recently discussed the difference in styles of play between England and Italy.

“The Premier League is more end-to-end,” he told The Athletic. “There’s a bit more freedom to attack and probably more spaces to exploit there. Whereas over here a lot of teams, especially against the bigger sides, drop a lot deeper into a low block and encourage you to come and break them down.

“You have to be a lot more patient, try to move the ball quicker in certain areas to encourage somebody slightly out of position.”
