Man United dealt blow in pursuit of Benfica forward

Besiktas insist that Manchester United will fail in their attempts to sign reported target Anderson Talisca this summer.
Talisca emerged as a potential candidate for United’s striker slot after he claimed that manager Jose Mourinho “has a love” for him “that exists”.
He added that parent club Benfica “are dealing with the situation”, which is complicated by the fact that he has completed only one season of his two-year loan with Turkish club Besiktas.
Besiktas chief Umut Guner says they have no intention of cutting the deal short in order to help United sign the 23-year-old.
“There is no deal with Manchester United or anyone else in place,” he told Turkish-Football.com.
“We agreed to a two-year deal with Benfica. The loan did have a clause that he had to activate the option which we did.
“Talisca will stay at Besiktas on loan for another season.
“Reports claiming that he can be signed for his £22m release clause are false, he has a deal with us.
“If a club wants to sign him now they will have to wait another 12 months.”
