Man United eye stunning raid on PL rival for two targets

Manchester United have made contact with the representatives of both Raul Jimenez and Ruben Neves.

United seem likely to reinforce their squad in January to try and secure a return to the Champions League through either finishing fourth in the Premier League or winning the Europa League.

One of their main rivals for both could be Wolves, one point behind them domestically and also in the knockout stages in Europe.

But United could be looking to weaken Nuno’s side with moves for Jimenez and Neves, who both featured in the FA Cup draw between the two sides on Saturday.

It was a match that proved United’s attack won’t improve without midfield recruits, so they will target both in upcoming transfer windows.

Goal.com say talks over Jimenez’s availability are ‘at an early stage’, but Wolves ‘are ready to consider a sale if their valuation is met,’ and the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, ‘retains a good relationship’ with the club.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was asked about his interest in Jimenez after the game and offered little in the way of revelations.

Neves would be a signing more suitable to United’s apparent desire for younger players with resale value. They ‘have made contact’ with the midfielder’s representatives to see whether their interest would be reciprocated.
