Man United retain an interest in forgotten £157m pair

Manchester United are considering their options with less than a week of the transfer window remaining.

Ahead of the deadline on August 8, United have signed Dan James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a combined £60m.

Harry Maguire remains their priority target, while negotiations to sign Paulo Dybala are ongoing.

But both moves have stalled somewhat, as well as talks over Bruno Fernandes and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

ESPN FC say that ‘there remains interest’ in Kalidou Koulibaly with regards to centre-half targets. United have been heavily interested in the Napoli defender for a number of years and reports emerged of a £100m bid in June.

Napoli are thought to want £107m for the 28-year-old – one of the four reasons Manchester City withdrew from the race – but United will keep him in mind.

Sean Longstaff is also still on their radar, but Newcastle ‘have not dropped their £50m valuation’. United were ‘willing’ to spend £25m to £30m ‘but are yet to submit a formal bid’.
