Man United’s £130m target pours praise on scout Mourinho
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has reiterated that he is “a Lazio player”, while still fluttering his eyelashes at Manchester United chief scout Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho was in attendance on Thursday evening as Milinkovic-Savic’s Serbia beat Montenegro 2-0 in the UEFA Nations League.
The Manchester United manager was reportedly there to scout Milinkovic-Savic, who played 11 minutes as a substitute, and Nikola Milenkovic, who played the full game at centre-half.
Milinkovic-Savic, said to be worth £130m, says it is an honour that “a coach of his calibre” was at the game.
“I’m a Lazio player, but obviously I was pleased that a coach of his calibre came to see the game,” he said.
“If he gave the impression of disagreeing with the starting line-up, it may not be because of me.
“Maybe he wasn’t here for me but for someone else. I read a bit from everywhere that he came here to watch me play, but that doesn’t mean anything.”
