Three reports in Italy disagree over Manchester United’s apparent interest in Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Milinkovic-Savic has re-emerged as a United target after being heavily linked to the club last summer.
Reports in SportMediaSet on Monday said the deal is ‘one step away’ from completion, with Lazio president Claudio Lotito ‘finally persuaded’ to sell ‘the most precious jewel’.
The midfielder’s agent, Mateja Kezman, is understood to have been in England over the past three days to hold talks with United and all three newspapers expect him to return to Rome soon to discuss any proposals with Lazio.
Corriere dello Sport says Kezman has ‘collapsed in a cosmic silence these past few months’ as they expect him to ‘bring offers’ back from England.
The newspaper adds that the whole complexion of a potential transfer could change ‘in a matter of hours’ if a club can provide a decent offer for Milinkovic-Savic, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that Lotito wants €120m.
Il Tempo says Lazio are eager to know ‘as quickly as possible’ if Kezman has news of an offer to bring them, while they describe the agent as ‘going around the world to understand how to solve Sergej’s situation’.
No pressure then, Mateja…
