Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Lyon teenager Florent Da Silva, according to reports in France.

The Red Devils have signed Daniel James from Swansea and Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka so far this summer for around £60m.

There is expected to be a lot more movement at Old Trafford before the transfer window shuts and the club have been linked with another name today.

French publication L’Equipe (via Daily Mirror) claims that United have reached a ‘very advanced’ stage in negotiations with Lyon over their creative midfielder Da Silva.

The report adds that a bid from United is ‘imminent’ with the young talent out of contract next summer, with other clubs in Europe monitoring his situation.

Da Silva, who has only played senior football for Lyon’s reserves in the French fourth tier, is looking at the ‘best project’ for him as United want to buy out the final year of his contract at the Ligue 1 club.

The 16-year-old is considered one of the club’s top talents despite not yet training with the first team squad.
