Man Utd bidders ‘ready’ to finalise takeover with ‘clarification’ from the Glazers ‘expected’ ASAP

According to Ben Jacobs, the Man Utd takeover process has not been “paused” and the two main bidders are “ready” to complete their respective deals.
The Premier League giants were put up for sale by the Glazer family towards the end of last year. At the time, they stated that they would “evaluate all options” and a full sale was on the table.
INEOS’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim have since emerged as the frontrunners in the race to oust the Glazer family.
After three rounds of bidding, it has become clear that Sheikh Jassim is only interested in a 100% takeover while Ratcliffe would keep the Glazer family on board with a reduced stake of around 20%.
Conflicting reports have emerged in recent weeks in relation to a proposed takeover. Earlier this week, the I claimed that ‘the takeover process has been effectively paused as far as at least one of the two main bidders are concerned’.
They suggested that this was down to the Glazer family ‘being disappointed by the size of the offers for the club’.
Jacobs has regularly reported on the takeover saga over the past ten months and he insisted a couple of weeks ago that the “process has not been paused”.
“Understand the #MUFC sale process has not been paused, even though it’s true that both Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe feel somewhat in limbo,” Jacobs tweeted.

“There is frustration at the lack of communication but neither group plan to pull out or have been told they are unsuccessful to date.”
On Wednesday evening, the reporter added: “This remains the case. #MUFC sale process hasn’t been paused, as previously reported.
“Groups say they’re waiting for further communication and ready if chosen. Yet counter-suggestions (as we’ve seen throughout) from those close to sellers insist Qatar are in fact behind delays.”
Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol stated last weekend that “developments are expected” this week once United return from the United States.
“It’s gone very quiet but there are expected to be developments on the sale of Manchester United after the team returns from their pre-season tour of the United States next week,” Solhekol told Sky Sports.
He added: “It has gone very quiet but there may be developments and some clarification next week. I think that would suit Erik ten Hag because he wants a resolution to this whole takeover saga. He’s been working hard trying to strengthen his squad in the transfer market this summer.”
