Man Utd are looking to bring in Atalanta winger Amad Traore to Old Trafford before the transfer deadline, according to a report.

The Red Devils are in for the market for a right winger with their attempts to sign Jadon Sancho so far falling short of Borussia Dortmund’s valuation.

They have reportedly now turned their attentions to the likes of Douglas Costa – who is unlikely to join – and Ousmane Dembele.

And now the Manchester Evening News claims that Man Utd are ‘working on a deal to sign’ Traore, who has been ‘making waves’ at Atalanta.

The report adds that ‘talks are progressing and there is cautious optimism of Man Utd finalising a move’ for the Ivorian, who moved to Italy when he was younger.

The 18-year-old became the youngest player to score on his Serie A debut when he appeared for Atalanta in their 7-1 thrashing of Udinese last season, while he has been an unused substitute in their league matches so far this term.

The MEN have been told by Italian sources that Traore ‘will not be cheap’ as he’s one of the club’s top prospects.

The Atalanta youngster, however, is not believed to be an alternative to Sancho and ‘United have partly moved for Traore this summer before new criteria is drafted up for Premier League clubs to sign 18 to 21-year-old foreign talent post-Brexit’.
