Man Utd and Man City are facing competition from Borussia Dortmund as they look to land Aston Villa starlet Carney Chukwuemeka, according to reports in Germany.

The 17-year-old came off the bench to make his Villa debut in the Premier League against Tottenham on Wednesday night after Dean Smith had hinted that he could throw him into the action.

He only played the final couple of minutes of the match but Chukwuemeka still managed to make an impression by hitting the post as Villa beat Spurs 2-1.

And now German newspaper BILD (via Sport Witness) claim that the Villa youngster is a target for Man Utd and Man City with the English clubs facing interest from Dortmund.

Since bringing the likes of Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens to the club, Dortmund have been linked with a host of English starlets, with Sheffield United’s Daniel Jebbison the most recent.

And now Dortmund are said to be ‘actively monitoring’ Chukwuemeka with the newpaper adding that the England Under-18 international would be the ‘perfect fit’ for Edin Terzic’s side.

The report continues by saying that Dortmund are ‘not alone in the hunt’ for Chukwuemeka with Man Utd, City, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain all ‘putting out feelers’ for the Aston Villa starlet.

It is understood that Villa will ask for €15m (£13m) if a club wants to sign him with BILD claiming the midfielder ‘plans to make the next step’.

Speaking after his Premier League debut on Wednesday, Chukwuemeka couldn’t hide his delight as he called it a “dream come true”.

“It felt amazing,” Chukwuemeka told the club’s official website.

“It’s every young footballer’s dream to make their Premier League debut and for me to do it was just a dream come true. It’s the proudest moment of my career so far.”

Chukwuemeka could have scored in his short time on the pitch as he hit the post from the edge of the area after replacing Marvelous Nakamba.

“As soon as the opportunity fell to me, I just thought ‘let me hit it and try my luck’,” Chukwuemeka added.

“Unluckily it hit the post, so next time maybe…”
