Reporter David Ornstein, of the Athletic, replied to a fan’s comment, telling him that a source informed him that Alf-Inge Haaland “had visited and been seen at United’s training ground.”
The same publication reported last week that United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sent his ‘personal scout’ Simon Wells to watch Haaland.
The youngster has scored a staggering 22 goals in just 16 appearances in all competitions for RB Salzburg, including a hattrick in a Champions League win over Genk in September.
The Norwegian has previously played under Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde and has in the past spoken of his love for English football.
“Every football player dreams of playing for one of the best and biggest clubs in the world,” the 19-year-old said.
“This has been a dream my whole life and I especially like English football.”
The 6’4 colossus was actually born in Leeds as his father was playing there in 2000, meaning he has dual citizenship.
But the goal machine is reportedly being courted by many of Europe’s top sides, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich reported to be keen.
