Man Utd confirm new addition to Rangnick’s backroom team
Man Utd have confirmed that Ewan Sharp is the latest addition to Ralf Rangnick’s backroom team, as he has joined as an assistant coach/analyst.
Earlier this month, Rangnick was announced as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s replacement at Manchester United.
The 63-year-old is set to be their interim manager until the end of the 2021/22 season. At that point, he is due to take up a consultancy role for a further two years.

Rangnick has two wins and a draw from his three games in charge so far. They have not been in action since December 11 as a result of a Covid-19 outbreak at their training ground.
The club’s players returned to training on Tuesday. As things stand, Man Utd will face Newcastle United on December 27.
United have announced via their official website that Sharp has joined United. This comes after he had a spell with Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow.
This news comes after Chris Armas became Man Utd’s new assistant manager. Armas previously worked with Sharp at New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC.
Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo has been criticised at times this season. Some have argued that he creates a “problem” for Man Utd.
The 36-year-old has been involved in 15 goals from his 19 appearances across all competitions this season.
Former United defender Mikael Silvestre has rubbished these suggestions though. He believes that Ronaldo “shows the way” without having to be the club’s captain:
“This comment about him being a problem is absolute rubbish. Look at the ratio of goals scored; chances created since the start of the season,” Silvestre said.
“Cristiano wants to help, wants to win trophies. He didn’t come to United to relax pre-retirement, it’s an even a bigger challenge than what he faced at his previous clubs.
“He left United after winning the Ballon D’or, winning the Premier League and being a top player. There would be questions asked of him and what he can bring but he’s a leader.
“He doesn’t wear the armband, but he shows the way, and everything has been positive in what he’s done.”
