PSG striker Edinson Cavani has reportedly decided he’d rather join Atletico Madrid than Manchester United.

The Uruguay international is set to leave the Parc des Princes on a free transfer at the end of the campaign, when his contract expires, after falling behind Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi in the pecking order.

Marca say that, ahead of his expected exit, the 32-year-old has received an offer from United, with the Red Devils keen to sign a forward after failing to land Erling Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg.

And we think Cavani would be a short-term solution with long-term benefits.

But the report says Cavani has decided he’d rather join La Liga giants Atletico Madrid instead.

Diego Simeone is hunting a new goalscorer having grown frustrated at the form of his current strikers.

Joao Felix has struggled to live up to his huge price tag following his arrival from Benfica.

Alvaro Morata has failed to fire this season after his loan move from Chelsea was made permanent in the summer.

And Diego Costa is a shadow of his former self, with the Spain international scoring just two goals from 11 La Liga matches this season.
