Man Utd delight as European team ‘accept £60m payment’ for Ten Hag’s top striker target
Erik ten Hag’s coaching staff are reportedly ‘keen’ for Man Utd to beat Bayern Munich in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani.
It has been widely reported that Man Utd‘s summer priority is to sign one or two new strikers before next season and they are being linked with several potential targets.
Kolo Muani has emerged as an option following his superb debut season for Frankfurt in 2022/23. After joining the Bundesliga side on a free transfer from Nantes in 2022, he grabbed 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances.
This form led to the 24-year-old making his senior debut for France and it was claimed earlier this week that United are ‘serious’ about signing him this summer and he could cost £86m including add-ons
A detailed report from The Daily Mail has lifted the lid on United’s chances of signing their striker targets. Regarding Kolo Muani, ‘United’s technical staff are understood to be keen’ to sign him. The report adds.
‘The club could face competition from Bayern Munich if they follow up their interest.
‘Muani’s valuation is quite high but Frankfurt are prepared to accept an initial payment of £50-60m for a player who cost nothing when he moved to Germany from Nantes last summer.’
Kolo Muani is potentially the leading option for United after they turned their attention away from Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

Ten Hag is known to be a huge admirer of Kane, but a deal is difficult with Spurs holding out for £100m even though he is due to be out of contract next year.
Tottenham endured a torrid season in 2022/23 but Kane still managed to score 30 goals in his 38 league outings for the North London outfit.
The report from The Daily Mail also points out that United’s stance on a move for Kane ‘won’t change unless Tottenham are prepared to drop their asking price’.
‘The England captain is Ten Hag’s No 1 target but United quickly walked away from the deal when Spurs chief Daniel Levy demanded a £100m fee for a player who turns 30 next month and has only one year left on his contract.
‘United have ended their interest and the situation won’t change unless Tottenham are prepared to drop their asking price closer to £80m.
‘Kane hopes Levy will re-consider as the new season draws near but United have moved on, refusing to spend the summer locked in a protracted transfer stand-off.’
