Man Utd have been fined £20,000 for failing to control their players during their 2-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion last week.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes netted as the Red Devils won 2-0. Lewis Dunk was sent off in the 53rd minute.

The defender was initially booked for his challenge on Anthony Elanga. This was upgraded to a red card after Peter Bankes was advised to check the incident again by video assistant referee Jarred Gillett.

McFred is now ‘integral’ at Man Utd, Arsenal, Bale, West Ham and…

The official was harangued by United players following the initial incident and the FA charged the club with failing to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

“Manchester United FC has been fined £20,000 for a breach of FA Rule E20.1 that took place at its Premier League against Brighton and Hove Albion FC on Tuesday, 15 February 2022,” a statement from the FA read.

“Manchester United FC admitted failing to ensure that its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 53rd minute and accepted the standard penalty.”

Elsewhere, Barcelona are ready to make a fresh contract offer to Ronald Araujo with Man Utd very interested in the defender, according to reports.

Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) still see Man Utd as the main threat to Araujo remaining a Barcelona player after attempts to renew his contract at the Camp Nou were ‘paused’.

It is claimed that an ‘agreement seemed close, but in recent weeks it is being postponed more than expected’ and his agents are now ‘listening to offers’ from other clubs.

Araujo’s representatives are aware that Man Utd are ‘crazy about signing him’ in the summer as they look to improve their defence.

The report seems to suggest that the Red Devils have a good chance of landing Araujo but equally Araujo’s entourage ‘expect Barca to make a move’ with the Uruguayan demanded much-improved terms.
