Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka could leave this summer with Man Utd putting him back on their shortlist, according to reports.

The Red Devils are looking for a new midfielder this summer with reports that Fred and Scott McTominay could be leaving the club this summer.

Goretzka was heavily linked with a move to Man Utd in 2021 before the Germany international signed new deal until the end of the 2025/26 season, to put an end to the speculation.

A report yesterday claimed that Bayern are ‘about to close the signing’ of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice despite interest from Arsenal and Man Utd.

And now Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that Goretzka’s future is “uncertain” because of Bayern Munich’s interest in Rice.

Plettenberg wrote on Twitter: “News #Goretzka: ManUtd is monitoring his situation! #MUFC is aware of the fact that his future his uncertain because of #Rice. But no concrete talks or negotiations yet.

“Goretzka is staying calm and his position is clear: He definitely wants to stay as he identifies 100 % with FC Bayern! And: Rummenigge supports him.”

Arsenal legend Ian Wright urged Gunners boss Mikel Arteta to sign Goretzka in the summer if he gets the chance.

“In respects of that, with the Champions League and the fact that you know you’re going to earn good money on the deal, there’s enough to entice a top player to come,” Wright said.

“Oh my god, Goretzka, go and get him. You can’t tell that that player wouldn’t look at what Arsenal are doing and not fancy that. You can’t tell me that, no way, they would all be intrigued.

“If it comes to a point where money is a problem then it’s not the right person for the dressing room.

“You have to make sure that the player Arsenal want to attract is experienced and of the same mind.”

Another player who Man Utd are interested in buying this summer is Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae with widespread reports in Italy convinced that he will sign for the Red Devils when his release clause become active in early July.

And journalist Raimondo De Magistris has now given an update on the situation surrounding a possible move to Man Utd.

De Magistris told Radio Gol: “As far as the team is concerned, for Kim, we have to wait until July. Napoli would like to keep him, renew his contract, but the knife is on the player’s side. Manchester United offered him a big salary. Kim is inclined to accept it.”
