Borussia Dortmund will allow extra time for Man Utd to complete a deal for Jadon Sancho this summer, according to reports in Germany.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains tight-lipped over the deal for Sancho, and negotiations appear to be far from over, but the former Manchester City player is expected to complete his move to Old Trafford at some point this summer.

Reports on Monday and Tuesday claimed a deal was close, with personal terms agreed for the Borussia Dortmund star.

However, further claims raised concerns about the move. The speculation claimed United are unwilling to match Dortmund’s £108million valuation in the coronavirus-impacted market.

And now a local German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten (via the Daily Express) says that Dortmund will allow Man Utd to extend the deadline to sort a deal until August 20.

The Bundesliga giants had reportedly given United until August 10 to secure the signing of the England international but now it seems they will have longer.

The report echoes earlier reports that the only sticking point left is the fee – with Dortmund demanding £108m for the winger – after Sancho agreed personal terms.

Meanwhile, former United player Keith Gillespie claims Sancho’s move to the Red Devils can propel him to become a “world superstar”.

“He’s a fantastic player and still very young,” Gillespie told Sky Sports.

“He’s done fantastically well in Germany, but he wants to come to the Premier League.

“Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world. No disrespect to Dortmund, they are a massive club as well but are not Manchester United.

“You come to a club like Manchester United to fulfil all your dreams, he’ll want to be a world superstar.”
