Man Utd are reluctant to let Alexis Sanchez extend his loan move at Inter Milan, according to reports in Italy.

Sanchez joined Man Utd in a part-exchange deal from Arsenal, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving the other way. But the forward struggled immensely at Old Trafford, scoring just five goals for the club in 45 appearances.

He was sent on loan to Inter Milan in the summer but has been unable to establish himself under Antonio Conte due to injury, however the Italian side are understood to be keen on extending the temporary move beyond June.

There are lots of clubs frantically trying to tie up their loan players beyond June with deals coming to an end despite some of Europe’s big leagues restarting.

And Inter are no different as they look persuade Man Utd to allow Sanchez to extend his stay until the end of the season – but Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) claims that there is some ‘arm wrestling’ between Inter and the Premier League side.

The Red Devils are understood to be happy to allow the Chilean to remain until the end of the Serie A season but it is the Italian club’s Europa League campaign that is causing issues.

Man Utd also remain in the European competition and ‘do not want to give advantages to their opponent’ which the Italian newspaper says ‘isn’t really surprising’.

The two clubs are thought to be ‘going sideways’ over the Europa League aspect of negotiations with ‘an agreement is urgently needed’ as Inter are lacking back-up for Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
