Man Utd keen on Rabiot

Man Utd are reportedly ‘still keen’ to sign Juventus and France star Adrien Rabiot but they face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Rabiot has been heavily linked with the Premier League over the past couple of years and it sounds like he is going to leave Juventus either in January or next summer.

The midfielder is out of contract next June and he is performing like a player looking to secure himself a bumper contract.

The Frenchman has been operated in a more advanced role this season for Juventus and he has been dangerous in attacking areas.

Rabiot has three goals and two assists in 11 Serie A. He has also impressed alongside Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni for France at the World Cup.

Tchouameni is rightly regarded as a star for the future but Rabiot has been a surprise package as he has more than played his part.

Juventus may use January as an opportunity to cash in on Rabiot with it looking unlikely that he will sign a contract extension.

It has previously been reported that they would ask for around €20m to sell Rabiot next month.

The midfielder came close to signing for Man Utd in the summer but this deal ended up falling through for financial reasons.

But 90min are reporting that the Red Devils are ‘still keen’ to sign Rabiot.

They state that the centre-midfielder ‘has been offered to FC Barcelona and a number of Premier League clubs’.

The other Premier League clubs keen on Rabiot are said to be Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. The three teams have ‘been in regular contact with the player’s representatives’.

The report from 90min notes that Italian media are claiming that Rabiot wants to earn around €10m at his next club.

Though 90min themselves believe that Rabiot ‘would take less for the right footballing project’.

A separate report from Spanish outlet Sport suggests that Rabiot ‘has no intention’ of staying at Juventus.

They are of the belief that Barcelona are leading the race to sign him as Rabiot ‘would welcome’ a switch to the Spanish giants.

The player himself recently suggested that he would be keen to join a Premier League club next.

He has kept his options open with him indicating that he does not have a “favourite team in England”.

“Premier League attracts me,” Rabiot said. “I’ve always said I’d like to play there — will it be at the end of my contract at Juve? I don’t know.

“I don’t have a favourite team in England, no team where I’d necessarily like to play.”
