Ajax boss Ten Hag is set to replace Ralf Rangnick in the Old Trafford dugout at the end of the season.

The 52-year-old has won two Eredivisie titles with the Amsterdam club and is chasing down a third this campaign. His side are four points clear of PSV in second with four games remaining.

Man Utd will have a busy summer with multiple players leaving when their contracts expire. Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic and Edinson Cavani are all set to depart.

Many players are being linked with a move to Old Trafford, including Ajax duo Jurrien Timber and Antony.

Ten Hag is reportedly keen on signing his former midfielder De Jong, who joined Barcelona for £77.4m in 2019.

And the Dutch manager has learned Barca’s asking price, with El Chiringuito (via the Express) claiming the Catalan club will be ‘happy’ to let him leave for €70m (£59m).

They say that Man Utd ‘want’ De Jong with a new central midfielder expected to a be top transfer priority.

The 24-year-old has 40 caps for the Netherlands and started all four games of his side’s Euro 2020 campaign.

Another midfielder linked with a move to Man Utd is West Ham’s Declan Rice – who is reportedly “open” to a move this summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes is not panicking, however. After Sunday’s loss at Chelsea, the Scot said: “I’ve said it [where I stand] and I think we have said what we think.

“We like Dec and he’s got three-and-a-half years to go on his contract so I don’t think there is any big panic.

“Maybe he just wants more money. People do turn down contracts. It is not unusual for players at clubs to turn down contracts, maybe it is a negotiation tactic.”
