Man Utd legend believes Ten Hag’s side can ‘beat anybody’; four stars singled out for praise

Man Utd legend Bryan Robson has backed his former side to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The Red Devils travel to west London after picking up an impressive 2-0 win over Tottenham on Wednesday.
It was Man Utd’s best performance since Erik ten Hag took charge, with Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris keeping the score from getting out of hand.
Victory leaves Ten Hag’s side fifth in the Premier League with six wins, one draw and three defeats from ten matches.
Since losing against Brighton and Brentford in their opening two matches of the campaign, the Dutch manager has got his side playing well.
In fact, they have been so impressive that Robson reckons Man Utd “are capable of going anywhere and beating anybody”.
That is a bold statement considering the Red Devils drew 0-0 at home to Newcastle United a few days ago and were battered 6-3 by Man City earlier this month.
Anyway, Robson is feeling confident after his old club smashed Antonio Conte’s side.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Robson was asked if Man Utd can beat Chelsea this weekend. His response was: “Yeah they can.”
He continued: “They’ve proved after beating Arsenal and beating Liverpool and beating Tottenham, okay it’s all at Old Trafford, but I think that this team are capable of going anywhere and beating anybody.
“Chelsea are going to be really tough, but this is a learning curve for our club because before Newcastle we said Newcastle at home, Tottenham at home and Chelsea away, this is where we can gauge ourselves see how far we have come and how far we still have to get to.
“It’s a work in progress and our club know that it’s so important to get back into the Champions League next year.
“If you can go on and win the title then that’s a massive bonus, but I don’t think we’re there at this moment in time. It’s a work in progress and if we can get in the Champions League and maybe have a good cup run then that’s going to be a good season.”
Robson was high in praise of summer signings Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Antony, while noting that Marcus Rashford is “back to his best” under Ten Hag.
He added: “When you get the balance of the team right, we’ve got loads of energy now.
“The new signings look like they’re settling in really well. Martinez is doing really well, Casemiro looks like a class player as far as I’m concerned. He sees a pass so quickly but he gets in the right areas of the pitch all the time.
“When we get that pressing game right from the front, Antony has got loads of energy and Marcus is back to his best this season.”
