Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has named the best player he has ever played alongside during his one-club career.
The Wales manager played with some extraordinary talents during his playing days, including the likes of Class of ’92 team-mates David Beckham and Paul Scholes and even his boyhood heroes such as Mark Hughes.
However, speaking before Juventus host Atletico Madrid in the return leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, Giggs believes Cristiano Ronaldo is the best he has ever played with.
Ronaldo won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a Champions League during his time at United and Giggs is impressed how much he has improved since he left Old Trafford.
“He is no longer the player that he was when he was at 19, 20 but he has adapted his game,” Giggs said during the Champions League Trophy Tour.
“He went from a winger, who used to beat people, make goals, score goals to now really just an out-and-out goal scorer, and he scores every type of goal, headers, goals in the six-yard box free-kicks and every type of goal.
“He is also the best professional I have played with. The way he looked after himself, not only in training but also away from the pitch. The way that he eats, the way that he conducts himself. So, I’m not surprised that he is still playing and still at the top of his game.”
