Manchester United and Liverpool are both looking to strike a deal for Rennes midfielder Benjamin Bourigeaud, according to reports.

As many as 11 clubs are understood to be in the running to land the Frenchman with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal understood to be two other Premier League sides interested.

Estadio Deportivo claims that the Red Devils and Liverpool will go head-to-head for his signature this summer after Bourigeaud caught their eye.

Bourigeaud scored nine goals last season from the centre of the park in all competitions, while he provided six assists for his Rennes team-mates.

The 25-year-old isn’t the only player that both United and Liverpool have been reportedly chasing this summer as both have a keen interest in the likes of Nicolas Pepe and Junior Firpo.

And that comes as no surprise to Gary Neville, who believes United are “in the pit with the rest of the sharks” when it comes to transfers this summer.
