Premier League side Man Utd are the best-placed team to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani this summer, according to reports.

The Red Devils are having a good first season under Erik ten Hag with his side currently occupying a top-four position after lifting the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

Man Utd still have a chance to winning more silverware with Ten Hag guiding them to the FA Cup semi-finals and Europa League quarter-finals.

And Ten Hag will no doubt be backed well again in the summer transfer window whether the Glazers sell the club or not with a report claiming that the American owners have access to a ‘company credit card’ with a £300m limit.

A striker is right at the top of Ten Hag’s priority list for the summer with Tottenham’s Harry Kane, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Benfica’s Goncalo Ramos among the players linked.

Cristiano Ronaldo left the club by mutual consent at the end of November and Man Utd had to wait until January to replace him with Wout Weghorst arriving on loan until the end of the season from Championship side Burnley.

Weghorst, who is yet to score a Premier League goal since joining, is unlikely to be part of Ten Hag’s long-term plans at Old Trafford, while the future of injury-prone Martial is also up in the air.

And now German publication Sport Bild (via Sport Witness) claim that Man Utd have honed in on Frankfurt’s Kolo Muani with the Red Devils making ‘the most concrete bid’ to date after making their intentions clear in January.

Man Utd value his ‘power and technique’ and Frankfurt are looking for a transfer fee in excess of €100m with the 24-year-old contributing 12 goals and ten assists in 26 Bundesliga appearances this term.

It is understood that Man Utd is the France international’s ‘favourite club’ but that report adds that the current potential takeover of the Premier League club is ‘holding up’ a deal.

Despite that, Sport Bild continue by saying that a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs is ‘imminent’ for Kolo Muani, who made three appearances at the World Cup for France.

When asked about reports linking him with a move away from Frankfurt, Kolo Muani told L’Equipe in March: “We talk about it a lot already, but I try to be focused on my club. We continue our performances and we will see this summer. Afterwards, I always dreamed of playing in big clubs.

“I thought I was going to need some time to adapt, maybe a year. But everything exploded. Either way, I’m ready for any challenge,” he stated, “I ask the club to get me my statistics on my matches each time.”

“I share this with my physical trainer to know what to improve. I do a lot of goals and assists, but it’s not at the level where I should be. I still miss quite a bit. This is only my third (full) season as a pro.”
