Man Utd ‘busy with many deals’ as Romano brings updates on six possible transfers
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Man Utd are currently “busy with many deals” with a few weeks of the transfer window to go.
So far the Red Devils have brought in Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund with former Leicester City centre-back Jonny Evans handed a short-term contract as they assess whether to take him for the season.
David de Gea, Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones have all left Old Trafford on free transfers, while Man Utd have sold Anthony Elanga, Alex Telles and Zidane Iqbal.
There could be a lot of incomings and outgoings before the end of the transfer window with Man Utd still looking to bring in a centre-back and a central midfielder, while a number of their players are being linked to other clubs.
And Romano has compiled a round-up of the latest goings on at Old Trafford with news on Sofyan Amrabat, Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay and more.
Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column: “I spent the last 20 days telling you Man United’s priority was a striker and Rasmus Højlund arrived. Next priority is outgoings and then they will enter into discussions for Sofyan Amrabat.

“To be at that stage, we have to wait for the official negotiation between United and Fiorentina. Talks are taking place between the Amrabat camp and Man United and the player wants to move, but it’s crucial to understand that to enter into important stages of the deal, a bid and a conversation is needed between the clubs, and this will happen once Man United will complete some of their outgoings.
“Today and in the next days, Man United will be busy with many deals. Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay; West Ham’s opening bid was rejected, but United will stay in contact.
“We have to understand what will happen on personal terms, because that is still something to be discussed between West Ham and the two players. The conversation is ongoing and for Maguire there is movement. Other clubs in the Premier League are asking about the situation but West Ham are pushing.
“Fred will 100 percent leave Manchester United this summer. We know he’s out of contract in 2024, I told you a long time ago and I keep saying now, there is a conversation with many clubs. I will keep you posted, but Fred is leaving.
“There is an ongoing conversation between United and Real Sociedad for Donny van de Beek. Still no agreement, but the two clubs are speaking because the player is keen on the move. It’s crucial to understand what kind of formula they will find for this deal as Sociedad want a loan with a buy option clause.
“How will the clause be activated, how will the salary be covered? All these kinds of details are still to be clarified between the two clubs, and they will be in contact this week to discuss these points.
“Man United are still thinking about the Dean Henderson situation. This is not something they will sort right now, it’s not imminent, but there remains an idea for Nottingham Forest to sign both him and Matt Turner, and a deal for the latter has already been closed. Forest will talk again with United for Henderson later in the window.”
