Man Utd ‘propose sensational new offer’ for £60m top target with three players included in ‘swap deal’
According to reports, Man Utd have ‘proposed a sensational new offer’ for Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund, who is among Erik ten Hag’s top targets.
The Red Devils are moving pretty swiftly to acquire their main transfer targets. £55m has already been splashed out to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea and they are now closing in on Inter Milan’s Andre Onana.
But their main priority this summer is to sign at least one new striker following Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit last December. Wout Weghorst has since moved on, while Anthony Martial may also leave before next season.
United are known to be major admirers of Harry Kane, but they are understood to be focusing on different targets as they are unwilling to become embroiled in a long saga for the striker, who Daniel Levy is desperate to keep heading into next season.
20-year-old Hojlund has emerged as a potential alternative for the Red Devils following his impressive debut season in Serie A with Atalanta. He has grabbed ten goals and four assists in his first 34 appearances for the Italian outfit.
Football Insider are reporting that ‘United have offered at least three players in part-exchange for Rasmus Hojlund during talks with Atalanta’.

This supposed ‘sensational new offer’ is seemingly not of interest to Atalanta, who ‘are holding firm in their desire to secure a cash-only deal for their prize asset as negotiations are set to continue over a deal’.
Hojlund is at least in favour of the move as he has already ‘agreed personal terms’ with United. The report adds.
‘But there is some way to go before a full agreement is secured with United also set to pay big money for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana and will need to balance their finances.’
‘With this in mind, swap deals have been suggested in part exchange by United, who are looking to offload multiple first team players, including some big names, in the final weeks of the window.
‘The Premier League giants would prefer what would be a “sensational” cash plus players exchange rather than paying the asking price of around £60m for Hojlund.
‘United have made the capture of a prolific number nine their top priority once the Onana deal is complete. Hojlund is regarded as one of the best young strikers in world football and it is believed he wowed Man United scouts with his potential throughout the 2022-23 campaign.’
