Manchester United have agreed personal terms with one of their top transfer targets according to the latest reports with a verbal agreement in place.

It’s no secret that Erik ten Hag is in the market for a striker and goalkeeper this summer. The club currently pushing for deals with Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund.

As United have been priced out of a move for Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen, Hojlund has become their top striker target.

After having a £30m bid rejected for the Atalanta forward, the club are hopeful that a bid of around £50m will be enough to sign him.

United have been handed an extra boost in pursuit of the forward as they already have a verbal agreement in place with the forward.

According to Football Insider, United have reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Hojlund over ‘personal terms’.

This will come as a huge boost to United, who are keen on landing a deal for the 20-year-old as soon as possible.

The forward is contracted with Atalanta until 2027 and so the Italian club are in a strong position to dictate his value.

There has even been some talk of Mason Greenwood heading in the opposite direction, to spend the season on loan with Atalanta.

Hojlund will give United a huge boost in the final third next season if the club are able to get a deal over the line.

He scored 10 goals for Atalanta last season and is one of the most promising strikers in Europe right now.

Ten Hag’s side only scored 58 league goals last season, which was the fewest of any of the sides who finished in the top six.

Marcus Rashford was their most prolific player, scoring 17 league goals, but even he lost form towards the end of the campaign.

Hojlund will be able to give United a new dynamic and would surely represent an upgrade on Wout Weghorst, who struggled to find the back of the net while on loan.

With the Premier League season just one month away, Ten Hag will be desperate to conclude this deal as soon as possible.
