Man Utd to ‘reluctantly accept offer’ for attacker who is set for ‘surprise exit’ as Ten Hag plans ‘sacrifice’
Man Utd will reportedly ‘reluctantly accept’ offers for England international Jadon Sancho this summer as Erik ten Hag attempts to raise transfer funds.
Sancho was a long-term United target prior to his £73m move to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in 2019.
The forward previously had a spell at Man City and he was sensational over a three-year stretch for the Bundesliga outfit.
But unfortunately for United and the player, his move to the Premier League giants has not worked out up to now.
Sancho has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League. After enduring an awful debut year, he impressed at certain points under Erik ten Hag in 2022/23 but overall, his season was underwhelming.
The winger had a spell on the sidelines during the 2022/23 campaign because – according to Erik ten Hag – he suffered a drop off in “fitness and mood”.
Sancho’s fortunes did not improve too much following this spell away from the first-team and it is now being reported that he is available for around £45m this summer.
Earlier this month, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano admitted that he was not “aware of anything concrete at this stage for Sancho”.
“I’m not aware of anything concrete at this stage for Jadon Sancho, despite links with Tottenham,” Romano said.
“Erik ten Hag has been protecting him in the best way this year and he’s still convinced that Jadon has great potential, so let’s see what happens, but for now I’m not aware of anything advanced with any other clubs or any plans from United to part ways with the player.
“Sancho showed what a great talent he was at Borussia Dortmund, so I hope fans are patient and we can see him get back to his best soon.”

Football Insider are now reporting that Man Utd are ‘now willing to reluctantly accept an offer for Sancho’.
A ‘surprise exit’ is ‘possible’ this summer as ‘club chiefs are exploring alternative ways to raise funds for their transfer business’ because the takeover process is dragging on. They add.
‘Man United are targetting a new goalkeeper, central midfielder and marquee striker – as well as other key areas of Erik ten Hag’s squad.
‘As such, a well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Red Devils could reluctantly consider accepting offers for Sancho, 23, this summer – just two years after his move from Borussia Dortmund.
‘It is believed the winger could be sacrificed if the right offer arrives for his services.’
