Manchester United will still be active in the transfer market before the end of the transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Red Devils have signed Mason Mount, Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana, while they are currently negotiating to bring in Jonny Evans on a free transfer.

Erik ten Hag still wants to sign a new midfielder, while a centre-back is also a priority if Harry Maguire ends up leaving the club this summer.

Maguire was on the verge of a move to West Ham but the Hammers pulled out of the £30m transfer after becoming frustrated at the time it was taking the England international to make up his mind.

And now transfer expert Romano has revealed that Man Utd are looking to bring in Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch, while they have four transfer options at centre-back.

Romano wrote in his Caught Offside column: “I wanted to clarify something on Manchester United, though, because a lot of their fans have been asking me if Man United are done in the market for this summer.

“We know there is the Financial Fair Play situation, but my simple answer would be: no. United are continuing to explore the market and it remains a possibility that they will do something, especially in midfield.

“This week, Man United made a call to be informed on the situation regarding Ryan Gravenberch at Bayern, as well as Liverpool. At the moment Bayern don’t want to give the green light for the player to leave, but in case this changes both clubs are informed.

“United are also still there on Sofyan Amrabat, but it’s also important for them to sell Donny van de Beek. Let’s see what happens with Harry Maguire as well, but at the moment a deal with West Ham has collapsed and they are signing Konstantinos Mavropanos instead.

“The Mavropanos deal is worth €20m fixed fee plus €5m add-ons, and it’s a long-term contract. Mavropanos was on list of two Italian clubs, but West Ham have been very strong and convinced to proceed and sign him. For Mohammed Kudus, the deal is currently difficult as there’s still no agreement with Ajax yet.”

And Romano has also revealed the list of four centre-backs that Ten Hag is keeping an eye on before the end of the window with Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard remaining his priority.

Romano added to GiveMeSport: “So Jean-Clair Todibo remains in the list, but Benjamin Pavard is the priority option. And then there are also Edmond Tapsoba and Marc Guehi as players who are appreciated but, at the moment, not priorities for Manchester United.”
