Jadon Sancho could leave Man Utd in the summer transfer window with a “surprise exit” now looking “possible”, according to reports.

There are rumours that Erik ten Hag has been given a £120m transfer budget for this summer, while he will be able to increase that with player sales.

Sancho’s move to Old Trafford has not worked out so far with the England international contributing 11 goals and six assists in two seasons at the club.

That is in stark contrast to his final two campaigns at Borussia Dortmund in which he scored 25 Bundesliga goals and provided 27 assists for his team-mates.

Man Utd spent £72m on signing Sancho in 2021 but Transfermarkt claim his value has already dropped to around €45m (£39m).

And now transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke claims that Man Utd are willing to sell Sancho this summer if “the right offer arrives”.

“I’m told a surprise exit for Jadon Sancho is possible,” O’Rourke told Football Insider.

“United could reluctantly consider offers for the winger, who hasn’t played his best football since arriving at Old Trafford in 2021.

“Sources say Sancho could be sacrificed to help bring in the club’s top targets – if the right offer arrives.”

The Red Devils have taken a while to get going in the summer transfer market but it was revealed yesterday that they have now agreed a deal to sign Mason Mount from Chelsea for £55m.

And they could now follow that up with an agreement for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana as they look for a possible replacement for David de Gea.

Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Man Utd are ‘now starting to negotiate’ despite previous reports suggesting that a deal could be sealed by Friday (today).

The newspaper adds that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio’s negotiations with the Red Devils ‘officially opens today’.

Onana’s agent has travelled to Ibiza for a second time to meet Man Utd director of football operations David Harrison in an effort to ‘finalise and define’ the transfer.

Man Utd will have to reach an agreement for around €50m if they want to sign the goalkeeper and the report continues by saying that it shouldn’t take ‘too many days’ to sort out.
