Harry Maguire is set to leave Man Utd.

According to reports, Man Utd will (obviously) sell Harry Maguire to the ‘highest bidder’ this summer amid interest from Chelsea and Tottenham.

Maguire slipped down the pecking order last season as Erik ten Hag preferred to use Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and even Luke Shaw.

The centre-back has suffered a major fall from grace over the past couple of seasons as his performances for Man Utd have significantly declined.

The Red Devils are open to letting the defender leave this summer as they look to raise funds for more signings before the summer window closes.

At the start of the window, Maguire was valued at around £50m but United’s asking price for him has since been reduced to £35m.

West Ham are the only club to bid for Maguire so far. Their latest failed offer for the defender was for around £20m.

TEAMtalk are now reporting that Everton are ‘planning to join the chase’ for Maguire with Sean Dyche ‘hoping to raise funds for a move’.

The Everton head coach is reportedly attempting to ‘offload some players to make room in the squad and raise funds for a potential move for Maguire with Michael Keane and Mason Holgate among those he is ready to move on’.

Dyche reportedly feels that Maguire ‘can add quality and experience to his squad as he looks to ensure Everton are not in another relegation fight next season’.

Football Insider meanwhile are reporting that Man Utd are ‘ready to sell Maguire to the highest bidder’. Talk about stating the bloody obvious…

While West Ham were the first to ‘make a move’ for Maguire, ‘several Premier League clubs are monitoring his situation’. The report adds.

‘It is believed the Red Devils are ready to part with the England international and will accept an offer from the highest bidder in the final month of the window. Tottenham, Everton and Chelsea have all been credited with a recent interest in the former Leicester star.

‘West Ham boss David Moyes is desperate to add a centre-back to his squad in the final month of the summer window and Maguire would fit the profile the Scot is looking for. But United are keen to land a bigger fee than £20million for a player they paid a reported £80million for in 2019.

‘Football Insider revealed last month (18 July) that Maguire could leave at a cut-price fee of around £35million – but the player wants his £10million-a-year contract paid up before agreeing an exit.

‘It is believed that Maguire is set for second-string status in the 2023-24 campaign if he stays at Old Trafford past the 1 September deadline.’
