Bruno Fernandes’ potential transfer from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United could finally be reaching a conclusion, according to reports in Portugal.

The Sunday Times report that Man Utd ‘increased their offer’ from an initial £42.5m to £46.4m over the weekend with the clubs edging closer to an agreement.

It is closer to Sporting’s valuation of the Portugal international but still thought to be a little short of the guaranteed £50.4m they are holding out for.

And now Sport Witness brings us an update on the Fernandes situation with their round-up of what the Portuguese newspapers are saying on Monday morning.

O Jogo leads with ‘Bruno prepares an imminent goodbye’ with an agreement that Man Utd will pay €55m (£46.4m) up front with another €15m (£12.7m) in add-ons.

There are still some ‘details’ to iron out but they are believed to be relating to the €15m bonus payments, with Sporting keen to make the triggers for the add-ons realistic.

O Jogo adds that Fernandes’ transfer to Man Utd is now ‘imminent’ and that the two clubs are now just ‘smoothing small edges’.
