Man Utd stars privately ‘air grievances’ at player’s ‘continued selection’
According to reports, Man Utd players have ‘privately questioned’ Ralf Rangnick’s decision to stick with Harry Maguire amid his poor form.
The Englishman became the world’s most expensive defender in 2019 as Man Utd signed him from Leicester for £80m.
Maguire was made captain at United at the start of 2020 and he has been an ever-present over the past couple of years. He has already played 135 times for the Red Devils.

Man Utd are having a tough season. They currently sit fourth in the table but Arsenal are primed to overtake them with their games in hand.
Maguire has been consistently criticised this term as he has underperformed throughout the campaign.
Last month it was reported that Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo were embroiled in a ‘power struggle’ at United. It was also claimed that Maguire could lose the captain’s armband, but Rangnick is backing his defender.
The Times are now reporting that Maguire’s teammates have ‘privately questioned’ Rangnick’s ‘continued selection’ of the centre-back.
The players are said to have ‘aired their grievances’ amongst themselves. They are of the belief that Maguire’s showings have not ‘met the club’s standards’.
Elsewhere, Paul Parker believes his former side should consider selling the England international should they receive a signficant bid this summer, and believes another United centre-back should be given the chance to form a partnership with Varane.
“If United, in my opinion, were to get somewhere near to their money back on Harry Maguire, I think they’ll have to think about it,” Parker said.
“I think [Victor] Lindelof and Varane, you know, they could build something on there maybe, in a mode of what they’re looking for and where the club wants to be.
“You’re talking about players who are definitely more agile, a little bit quicker, better defenders in one against one situations and I think you have to look at it that way.
“I don’t know if it’s going to happen. Me, personally, for United to go forward, that’s the starting area.”
There have been various reports of discord between members of the United squad in recent weeks, with one such report claiming a rift between Bruno Fernandes and Maguire.
But Fernandes has denied any such tension and insisted he was happy to see his teammate score in the win over Leeds.
