Man Utd submit ‘offer’ for midfielder available for free in summer
Man Utd have submitted an offer to the agents of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to reports.
The Switzerland international is out on contract in the summer and Gladbach have announced that Zakaria has told them of his decision to to sign a new deal and move elsewhere.
A club statement on the official club website said: ‘Denis Zakaria has informed the club of his intention to leave in the summer after five years at Gladbach.’
Look at Ronaldo and Greenwood, having a big old ‘feud’
The news of the 25-year-old’s decision may have put a number of Premier League clubs on alert, with reported interest from several clubs.
Man Utd have been particularly strongly linked but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said on Twitter on Monday that there had been no official offer from the Red Devils to Gladbach.
Manchester United have made no bid for Denis Zakaria as things stand. The option has been discussed as he’s appreciated by Rangnick – but there’s still no official bid to Borussia 🔴 #MUFC

And now Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk insists the rumours of Man Utd interest are “true” and that while the Premier League side have not made a bid with Gladbach, they have made an “offer” to his representatives.
“Man Utd made an offer to the agents of Denis Zakaria. Ralf Rangnick is a fan of the player. No negotations with Borussia at the moment. Clubs of all top leagues are interested in Zakaria. BUT: United would pay for a Transfer in Winter. Zakaria is a free agent in summer.”

The big-money arrivals of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo have not had the impact most Man Utd fans were expecting with the club currently seventh in the Premier League.
Zakaria could help the Red Devils unlock the potential in their squad with many supporters, pundits and former players desperate for them to sign a new midfielder.
