The Glazer family will reportedly ‘give Erik ten Hag a clearer picture’ of whether they intend to ‘sell up or remain’ at Man Utd ‘in the coming days’.

The Premier League giants have been up for sale since last November. At the time, the Glazer family announced that they would be “evaluating all options” and a full sale was on the table.

Seven months on, it remains to be seen whether the Glazer family will sell the club before next season. There have been three rounds of bids for United and INEOS’ Sir Jim Ratcliffe is understood to be leading the race to become their new majority stakeholder.

The British billionaire is willing to keep the Glazer family on board with a reduced stake of around 20% but he would have the option to completely oust the unpopular American owners in a couple of years.

Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim is battling Ratcliffe for United, but he is only interested in a full takeover. He reportedly feels that the Brit is simply being used as “a stalking horse to try and drive up the price”.

Ten Hag seemingly has big plans for this summer’s transfer window but it is unclear how much money he will have to spend given the club’s uncertain ownership situation.

Avram Glazer is set to be in attendance for the FA Cup final on Saturday afternoon and according to The Mirror, ‘Ten Hag is eyeing a crucial Man Utd takeover update’.

They claim ‘Ten Hag has been told that he will be given a clearer picture of whether United’s American owners intend to sell up or remain in charge at Old Trafford over the coming days’. On United’s upcoming transfer business, the report adds.

‘Ten Hag is desperate to be given the go-ahead to step up his summer transfer plans. He wants a world-class striker – Harry Kane is his No 1 target – a midfielder, centre-back and goalkeeper. But the ownership issue is casting a shadow over the club.

‘Pressure is growing on the Glazers to confirm whether they intend to sell or bring in outside investment to finance a stadium rebuild. Ten Hag hopes they will offer him more clarification now the season has ended.

‘He is also interested in landing Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount – but feels the Londoners’ £80 million valuation is excessive. There is also likely to be a raft of departures, with hopes that more transfer cash can be generated by the sales of Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek and Anthony Elanga.’
