Man Utd told to sign ‘disciplined’ £25m star instead of snatching top Liverpool target for huge fee

Man Utd have been told that they should sign Marcel Sabitzer on a permanent deal this summer as Alexis Mac Allister may not fit into Erik ten Hag’s system.

Sabitzer has performed well for Man Utd over the past couple of months. He joined the club on loan in January from German giants Bayern Munich.

His loan deal does not include a buy option so United will have to negotiate with Bayern Munich if they want to sign him on a permanent basis.

Recent reports have indicated that he will cost around £25m this summer. Ex-United player Paul Parker “would not argue” if his former club splashed out to acquire Sabitzer permanently.

“I would say that Man United should sign Sabitzer on a permanent deal. He has said multiple times that he is unhappy with the way he was treated at Bayern Munich and I don’t think it’s a good club to be in even though everything looks rosy,” Parker told Indiabetting.

“He has played excellent when he has been given the chance, and in some way, it’s a shame that he hasn’t got more game time because he is a really good player. But I think he is happy with how he has been treated at Man United, which is in big contrast to his miserable time at Bayern Munich.

“He is a very disciplined player and I love watching him. I would certainly not argue about signing him to Manchester United. Of course, he wants to be at a club where he feels wanted and I could imagine being in Bayern Munich is tough.”

Man Utd are expected to strengthen in midfield this summer and Brighton’s Mac Allister is understood to be among their targets.

The £62m-rated World Cup winner is also being linked with a move to Liverpool.

Parker thinks Mac Allister is an “excellent player” but he has explained why he thinks the midfielder may not be an ideal signing for Ten Hag.

“I’m not sure about MacAllister to Man United. I think he is an excellent player and I enjoy watching him but the way Brighton plays suits him perfectly,” Parker added.

“He is playing for one of the best sides in the league and except for Man City, they are the most in-form team, especially when you are looking at how well they are playing even though they got robbed by the officials against Tottenham.

“He has to play for a team that controls the games. You can’t ask him to chase around. It might work out at Man United but I’m not sure about it and I just don’t want him to make a wrong decision because I really believe that he has a big future ahead of him.”
