Man Utd ‘particularly interested’ in Serie A star as Ten Hag ‘opens talks’ with Frankfurt-linked defender
Man Utd could move to sign Juventus defender Gleison Bremer this summer as Erik ten Hag looks for a new centre-back, according to reports.
The Red Devils are looking to improve a number of positions in their squad this summer with a centre-back towards the top of their list, although a new centre-forward is still the priority.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof have both been linked with moves away from the Old Trafford this summer with Ten Hag making Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane his preferred centre-back partnership.
Maguire made eight Premier League starts and Lindelof managed 14, with both Varane and Martinez picking up injuries throughout the campaign.
And now Italian website Calciomercato claim that Man Utd are ‘particularly interested’ in Juventus centre-back Bremer with the Brazilian one of the ‘very few Juve players’ who have not ‘lost value’ in this ‘complicated season’.
Man Utd and Premier League rivals Chelsea – who are also understood to be interested – would need to submit ‘an offer exceeding €60m’ to persuade Juventus to sell this summer.

Calciomercato insist that ‘nobody is non-transferable’ and that the Old Lady ‘will think carefully’ about any offers they receive for the Brazil international this summer.
With Man Utd reportedly ready to sell Eric Bailly – who has spent the season on loan at Marseille – this summer ‘almost free of charge’, Football Insider claims that the Red Devils have opened talks with Lindelof over a contract renewal.
It is understood that Eintracht Frankfurt ‘remain interested in defender Victor Lindelof as he opens contract renewal talks’ with Man Utd.
The Sweden international has a year remaining on his existing deal at Old Trafford but the club have an option to extend it by a further year.
Football Insider add that Lindelof has now ‘earned the trust’ of Ten Hag after producing a number of reliable displays towards the end of the campaign – but ‘it is believed he will have to accept a backup role in order to remain at the club’.
Especially with Man Utd ‘keen to add a new top-class defender in the summer window’ and ‘all parties remain happy with the current status quo as negotiations get underway’.
If an agreement can’t be struck between Lindelof and Man Utd then Frankfurt are ready to ‘pounce’ to secure his signature before the end of the transfer window.
